CHILDREN LEARN TO SELF-EDUCATE AND MOTIVATE

Teachers present each child with material and activities that directly appeal and respond to their level of development and interests; the child, in turn, freely chooses their work each day, selecting from an array of engaging materials. The teacher carefully observes the child’s progress, presenting new materials as soon as the child is ready.

WHAT PARENTS ARE ASKING

We do extensive Criminal Reference checks and Background checks on all of our team members.

Montessori Educational Centers educates and cares for children ages 6 weeks – 6 years old.

Our program is 5 days per week, Monday – Friday. Recognizing the community’s need for extended hours, we are open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our Preschool program runs as follows:

Infant: 6 weeks-18 months

Toddler: 18 months-3 years

Primary: 3 years – Kindergarten (Child must be potty trained)

School Day: 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Full Time: 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

The multi-year span in each class provides a family-like grouping where learning can take place naturally. Because this peer group is intrinsic to Montessori, there are more language experiences and conversations in the Montessori classroom than in conventional child care settings. Multi-aged children enjoy mutually beneficial relationships. Because there are varying age and ability levels in each classroom, children can be working at whatever level they are capable of without competing against each other. In addition, they tend to grasp concepts much more quickly because they are exposed to so much at a younger age and not only given what is deemed as “age-appropriate lessons”. Lastly, older children get an opportunity to reinforce many of their newly found skills by showing a younger child which helps them experiencing leadership within the classroom.

Montessori is based on the principle of free choice of purposeful activity. If a child is being destructive or is using materials in an aimless way, the teacher will intervene and gently re-direct the child either to more appropriate materials or to a more appropriate use of the material.

WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

Both of my children have had the good fortune of being in Miss Jackie's classroom at Child's World, and our family has benefited immeasurably from the clear, consistent, caring guidance that Miss Jackie and her staff provide --- not only to the children, but to us parents as well! Without their Montessori-informed guidance, we would never have known how much our young children are capable of doing. I am deeply grateful to the staff at Child's World for sharing their love, respect, and knowledge with our family. Thank you!

As parents who both work full-time, the time with our twins is limited on weekdays. We truly believe that their involvement in Montessori, with the instruction of Lead Teacher Miss Lindsay (Toddler Classroom), has made our time together that much better. They are able to better communicate and enjoy their experiences – whether that is “finding work” at home, meals, and other activities. Miss Lindsay has created an environment in her classroom where our children feel safe and enjoy learning. We couldn’t ask for more.
