WHAT PARENTS ARE ASKING

Infant: 6 weeks-18 months

Toddler: 18 months-3 years

School Day: 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Full Time: 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

The multi-year span in each class provides a family-like grouping where learning can take place naturally. Because this peer group is intrinsic to Montessori, there are more language experiences and conversations in the Montessori classroom than in conventional child care settings. Multi-aged children enjoy mutually beneficial relationships. Because there are varying age and ability levels in each classroom, children can be working at whatever level they are capable of without competing against each other. In addition, they tend to grasp concepts much more quickly because they are exposed to so much at a younger age and not only given what is deemed as “age-appropriate lessons”. Lastly, older children get an opportunity to reinforce many of their newly found skills by showing a younger child which helps them experiencing leadership within the classroom.

The independence of the children is very evident; you can expect to see students choosing their own work, preparing snacks by themselves, putting away their work without being asked, and assisting other students needing help. This sense of self discipline, citizenry and independence is fostered through a long and patient process. The Montessori philosophy is founded on the principle that every child can succeed.

WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

Both of my children have had the good fortune of being in Miss Jackie's classroom at Child's World, and our family has benefited immeasurably from the clear, consistent, caring guidance that Miss Jackie and her staff provide --- not only to the children, but to us parents as well! Without their Montessori-informed guidance, we would never have known how much our young children are capable of doing. I am deeply grateful to the staff at Child's World for sharing their love, respect, and knowledge with our family. Thank you!

I've been amazed at what our boys have learned while at the Children's House. They've learned how to read, add and subtract, and can identify every state on the U.S. map! More importantly, they've learned how to be independent self-starters and understand what it means to take responsibility for their own actions. We love the education that our boys have received while at Montessori, and we love the teachers there as well - they are all so patient and kind. It's obvious that the teachers truly care about their students and enjoy the work they do.
